What is eXpandFramework and How to get started?
eXpand is the first open source project based on the DevExpress eXpressApp Framework (XAF). With more than 30 completely free modules it is definitely a must stop for every XAF developer. Also is being kept up to date by Apostolis Bekiaris. Just check the commit history (As of right now last one was 5 hours ago).

XPO Connection Strings
When XPO was first released it supported MSSQL Server and MS Access as the main database systems, most of the examples and documentation did not specify how XPO connected to the database, at that time it looks like the connection to the database happened like magic.
